Kelowna Daily Courier features, “Flowr Corporation and Hawthorne Canada break ground Thursday for this 50,000-square-foot cannabis research and development facility on McCarthy Road at Kelowna’s northern boundary with Lake Country.
— Flowr’s partner in the research and development facility is Hawthorne Canada, a subsidiary of the plant science and fertilizer company Scotts Miracle-Gro.
Hawthorne will also provide the lights, fertilizer and irrigation systems for the research and development as well as the additional 85,000-square-foot greenhouse that will be used to grow marijuana.
The two Flowr facilities will create 200 full-time, good-paying jobs in construction, management, production, maintenance and administration.
Flowr has both provincial and national approval. That means it can sell the pot it produces to the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch for sale at its own cannabis stores and wholesale to private pot stores as well as into the medical and adult-use recreational markets from coast to coast.”
